…And i am back !

Donno how these days have been flyin by…

I had loads of work…lots of travel and so many things to handle…leaving not enough time for me to write…n i had been missing this place so badly…..

Lately, the weather is a li’l too rough, wet n lazy in Pune…and what has become the biggest issue of my life is the hectic travel to n fro office.. I live at a distance of almost 21 kms from my office which leaves me travelling for almost 2.5-3 hrs a day considering the traffic.

But now it seems the problems r gonna get solved…DH gets an offer with the company i work for !

And we are planning to take up an accomodation next to office…..

So hopefully no more waking up early mornin, hectic travellin n ol…

On the other note…

We had our first ‘Engagement Anniversary’ on the 13th of this month….had a lovely small celeberation for just the two of us…….

I really cherish this day a lot…actually even more than my wedding day……….!

Things seem to be fallin in place gradually…and I am happy ! As of now life’s good… ‘Touchwood’ !!!

I would be having a few more hectic weeks ahead before things get cozy n comfortable….so may be a little less blogging…

Let me start this post with a note :

‘SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE IS NOT A COMPLETE PICTURE OF INDIA, IT IS NOTHING MORE THAN A 0.1% OR MAY BE LESS THAN THAT OF WHAT LIES IN THE HEART OF MY COUNTRY’

…While I was in Israel, I could feel people thinking a little way too less of India. And when I had conversations with them, they would very often say “Ah..I have seen that oscar winning movie about India..what was that…slumdog millionaire…”. This was ok as long as they appreciate the movie..but when they try to conclude a general picture of India on the basis of it, I protest !!!

Finally, I would give them a long speech about India until they get convinced of the fact that there is definitely a country which is far far far more than what they knew.

Some tid-bits of the conversations to follow:

X: How big is India?
ME: It is the seventh largest country on the globe.
X: Oh is it !! And how is it like….the geography?
ME: India is divided into 27 states as big as your country…plus a few union territories…
X: I never knew it was this big….how is it managed then??
ME: Each state has its own government…a Capital city…governing offices etc etc etc…
X: Oh so you don’t have something like a govt for the country on a whole?
ME: We have a Democratic Government, a central Capital for the country, ie, New Delhi…special govt bodies for each department…………….
X: That really sounds interesting..I never knew India is managed in such an organised fashion !! ..You said something about the states..?? What is it like??
ME: Yeah…each state is a unique entity in itself….each of them with a different language, different dress, different food styles, different music, different folk dances………….
X: Hey is it like that !!!! We never knew this ! We always knew that India has poor people.
ME: Poor?? If you look at the top 10 richest people in the world, 3 of them are Indians. What makes you think its poor….
X: Slumdog..
ME: Oh pls dont judge a country just after watching a movie…What is shown in Slumdog is not more than a percent of India…….
X: But then why is the condition so worse for that small part of the population too…
ME: Do you have any idea what the population in the Indian subcontinent is…? Its is over 100 millions… and when a land supports such a huge population it is bound to have economic differences too ! Even you have beggars in the street… I dont know a country without the poor people…
X: Yeah well said !! Ok…what do u miss the most here…well well apart from family and hubby…
ME: ummmm Food
X: Ohhh….you dont like the food here…we have so much of a variety….
ME: sorry but no i dont…i am accustomed to a very different kinda food (spicy, salty, oily..ol chatpata stuff n less rice, no breads…)
X: ohh i see….what do i get to eat if I come to India..is it gonna be more variety n taste…
ME: Yup..365*5 a different meal altogether if u wish ! India is a paradise for the foodies……….
X: Yeah..I often visit the Indian restaurant in the city…

……..blah blah blah….

Finally….they have much better view about my country and would love to visit India soon.

I never exaggerated…just put up the facts.
Had I remembered the purab n paschim Or the Namaste London speech stats I would have quoted those as well

…was back in India on saturday. Alls gud.. I am having some most memorable time of my life….

…Just that I m not well…Moments after I stepped out of the Mumbai International Airport, I felt the severe cold that i had caught during the flight…and now I am down with high fever too….

Nevertheless..India looks as beautiful as always and I am so happy to be back home…
I’ll be joining office tomorrow…

Last but not the least, i am giving you the clue to my next post…which infact was an interesting conversation about India which I had with almost all of my officemates while in Israel…and the result, I was successful in convincing everybody !!!

Tonight is my last night in Israel….
I was not sure if I would be able to survive in this place for the required time….. but today as I write this post, the past three weeks flash before me…
I see myself struggling to adjust with the surroundings in the first few days…. I see the people around me easing out things for me at every step… I see myself missing home while sitting alone and then I see myself giggling at the most silly stuff with the ppl I met for the first time in my life…I see myself spending so much of quality time with the wonderful ppl at the office…………….

All in all I feel happy about this trip….I gained something good every moment of this trip…and as I go back to India I have in kitty a bag full of nice rememberances…some lovely moments….some love…some new friendships…some extremely important lessons of my life !!!

I am gonna miss this place and these ppl for sure……….

yeah.. the last and the long weekend is finally over…
i took a trip to jerusalem on saturday….friday was dedicated to shoppin n sunday to the beach…. loved the mediterranean…
..and as for Jerusalem it was a nice trip…didnt really like the place too much but yet it was worth visiting…

Israel has a very unique religious blend !!!
Weekends are shabbat time…. and the very astonishing part of it is that this day the ppl ‘DO NOT WORK’…. they dont write, they dont use electronic good, not even the toaster or the mobile…no driving..nothing !!!!!! [Eyes Wide Open !!!]

And on the way back to Tel Aviv…we saw a VERY STRANGE village… something Latnur (i guess thats the name) ……. Now whats interesting in this place is that the ppl here DO NOT SPEAK……. I am not kiddin !!!!
They dont talk all their life..no music..no communication nothing…… and what they are supposed to do 24*7 is talking to their innerself and God….
This place is a funded locale and various religious institutions fund the living and basic needs of religiously dedicated ppl… No comments further but I feel its all weird … rather very weird…
M not sure which God asks you to do so….!!!
At least mine doesnt….and I know I can please Him by doing good, being good and thinking good….. !!!

Anyways I am off to India this Friday….

I really feel like running back to home… Just 12 more days in Israel but still I just could not hold myself back over this weekend…. The ppl with me have already seen the places here and so did not want to go anywhere… hence me too was caught in hotel room for most of the time….

I missed the weekends back home… weekend for us is one part of the week when we spend maximum time together and have the maximum fun and activity…. Missed it ol badly…

Plus, today, ie, 13th we have our 7th anniversary…the day we met 7 years back…..the day we cherish the most… Missin u sweetheart……
